Rabi-Al-Thani is the fourth month in the Islamic calendar. The meaning of this name is the second month of spring. Furu battle started in the month of Rabi-Al-Thani. Sariyyah battle started in the month of Rabi-Al-Thani. In this battle holy Prophet (P. B. U. H.) was not present. Another person among the companions was selected to lead the Islamic armies in this battle. This month is also related to Hazrat Khwaja Nizamuddin. Death of Hazrat Sheikh Abdul Qadir Jilanee took place in the month of Rabi-Al-Thani. He died at the age of almost 90 years.

This month is following the first month of spring therefore it is given this name. It is an indication that at the time of giving a name to this month the weather was pleasant. It was spring weather and this month in the Islamic calendar is given name on the basis of that weather at that time.

Changes are taking place in water as the days are changing with time in the Islamic calendar. The moon is considered for starting and ending months in Islamic calendar due to which the weather in the past is not the same as the weather in these days. Rabbi-Al-Thani was the name given to this month at the time when there was spring season. This shows that the weather was fine and showing the end of spring.
